SCHOOL ASSESSMENT REVIEW TEAM (S.A.R.T. COMMITTEE)
The district program is designed to provide an ongoing system of evaluation
of district programs. Parents and staff work together to analyze programs
both at the district and school levels. All RiverView Elementary parents
are invited to become active participants in the RiverView Elementary
SART Committee. The RiverView Elementary SART Committee will convene
on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 P.M. in the RiverView
Elementary Library Media Center.
Each meeting consists of a thematic presentation regarding curricular
and/or co-curricular programs at RiverView Elementary Intermediate
School, a principal's report and a forum for parents' questions and
concerns.
The RiverView Elementary SART Committee provides a parent representative
who attends area and district SART meetings and reports back information
to the school site committee.
RiverView Elementary PARENT/TEACHER CLUB (P.T.C.)
The RiverView Elementary Parent/Teacher Club is an organization open
to all parents. Every parent is encouraged to join and support the
school and its functions. It is a proven fact that students of involved
parents are more successful in school! A close feeling of partnership
prevails between the school and the families it serves which relates
directly to the enthusiasm and accomplishments of the RiverView Elementary
children.
The Parent/Teacher Club, with its many activities, is an integral
part of the total school program. The money earned from the fund-raisers
enable the Parent/Teacher Club to purchase needed items or services
that are beyond what the district is able to normally provide. We
encourage parent volunteers to take an active role. Some of the activities
parents can be involved in include:
The Parent/Teacher Club Board meets on the first Tuesday of each
month in the school library at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited and encouraged
to attend! If you wish to be included on the agenda call the President
one week in advance. Contact Linda Miranda (439-0282)
Joining the RiverView Elementary Parent Teacher Club is just one
of the ways to become involved in your child's school years. We celebrate
the many talents and experiences you can share and encourage you to
get involved. Your time is precious and we offer volunteer opportunities
from special one time events to regular weekly commitments. Our PTC
raises money, as well as donations of time and materials for the special
needs of our school not covered by regular funding. If you can help
out or would like to get involved please contact Linda Miranda or
attend one of our regular monthly meetings.
